Pesaro in 3 days: an itinerary from the historic centre
Pesaro is easy to explore on foot and by bike: Rossini's city has its historic centre a few steps from the sea. Here is a three-day itinerary for guests staying in the centre, with distances from Cortirola Luxury Apartment (Via Cortirola 8).
Day 1: the historic centre and Rossini (all on foot)
From Cortirola, the Rossini Theatre, Casa Rossini, the Conservatory and Piazza del Popolo are all within walking distance. Casa Rossini, at Via Gioacchino Rossini 34 (page on Italia.it, in Italian), is the small house where the composer was born in 1792 and is now a museum with prints, engravings and memorabilia; opening hours vary by source and season, so check before you go.
For the city museums there is a combined "Pesaro Musei" ticket covering the Musei Civici at Palazzo Mosca (Piazza Mosca 29) and the Domus in via dell'Abbondanza: it is valid for seven days and allows one entry to each site: always check current terms and prices on the museums' own websites. In the evening, a stroll in Piazza del Popolo and dinner in the centre end the day well.
Day 2: the sea and a bike ride
Ponente beach is about 1.1 km away and Levante beach about 1.2 km: with the apartment's free bikes you can be there in minutes. Pesaro's seafront connects to the city cycle network and to the Ciclovia Adriatica, handy if you want to ride towards Fano or Gabicce.
In the afternoon, come back to the centre for a break in the apartment's wellness area (multi-function shower with jets, steam, waterfall and chromotherapy) and go out again for an aperitivo.
Day 3: a day trip nearby
Pick one. Urbino (about 35 km), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Raphael. Gradara, a medieval village with a castle tied to the story of Paolo and Francesca. The Furlo Gorge, the best-known canyon in the Marche. The San Bartolo Natural Park and Fiorenzuola di Focara, a village perched above the sea. Villa Caprile and Villa Imperiale, a few minutes from the centre. Each makes a good day out.
When to come: the Rossini Opera Festival
Every August Pesaro hosts the Rossini Opera Festival: the 2026 edition, the 47th, runs from 11 to 23 August with twenty-two performances, mainly at the Rossini Theatre (source: Rossini Opera Festival). Book well in advance for that period and check dates and venues on the official festival website.
